Stan Jones' work focuses upon the issues of inclusive design and social justice at a range of scales, from skateboard parks to neighborhoods to regional open space systems. Stan also teaches and writes about issues pertaining to landscape construction, technology, and sustainability, and has regularly offered Design/Build studios wherein students take 'real world' projects through conceptual design to construction documents to construction. Two recent projects have included 'The Campus Heart', a new public space at the center of the University of Oregon, and the Lawrence Hall Courtyard, a new public space for the School of Architecture and Allied Arts. Both projects afforded students the opportunity to participate in the actual creation of two major public spaces on the UO's campus.

Professor Jones has published articles in Landscape Journal, Landscape Architecture, and numerous other publications, as well as authoring chapters in books ranging from the Universal Design Handbook to the recently published Landscape Architectural Graphic Standards. He is also the co-author of the book Graphic Guide to Site Construction.
