Application Procedures and Deadlines

Bachelor of Landscape Architecture

Five-year accredited professional bachelor's degree program. 

Applications for admission to Fall (of the following academic year) will open October 1.

Applications for admission to Winter (of the current acadamic year) will open August 1.

Application requirements

The Department Admissions Review Committee will review applications immediately following each of these dates, and will review applications at each subsequent date until we have filled all available student positions, at which point admissions will close for the year. It is in the student's interest to submit their application by the earliest date listed above relevant to their circumstance. Please email landarch@uoregon.edu if you have any questions or need clarification.

The priority application deadline for Fall admissions is January 15, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until space is full

The applicaiton deadline for Winter admissions is November 15.

Decision letters will be emailed 4-8 weeks after each application deadline.


Master of Landscape Architecture

There are two tracks leading to a professional master's degree in landscape architecture. Eligibility depends on prior education.

FIRST PROFESSIONAL (Summer Entry)
The first professional degree program is for students who have a non-landscape architecture or non-architecture undergraduate degree. The program is three-years plus one term (ten terms) in length and begins in the summer.

POST PROFESSIONAL (Fall Entry)
The post professional degree program is for students who have a BLA, BSLA, BArch or MArch degree. This program is generally two years (6 terms) in length and begins in the fall.

Applications for admission to Summer and Fall (of the following academic year) will open October 1.

The application deadline is January 15. 

Decision letters will be emailed the first week of March or shortly thereafter.

PhD in Landscape Architecture

Research degree for students seeking careers in teaching, scholarship, and leadership in landscape architectural design, planning and history in academia, practice, policy, and consultancy. Please review department application requirements prior to starting the online department application. 

Applications for admission to Fall (of the following academic year) will open October 1.

PRIORITY DEADLINE: November 15

2nd ROUND (on a space available basis) DEADLINE: February 1

Decision letters will be emailed no later than April 1.
